In our last blog post, we highlighted our great friend and entertainer, Kevin Hamdan. This week we thought it was important to continue on that trend of promoting some of our most important vendors. Now, from entertainment, we move on to food! Food may be one of, if not the most important part of an in person event.This week we are highlighting one of our favourite chefs in the industry around Toronto, who has masterfully helped us achieve incredible success with our events in the past. Selwyn Richards has always been an important vendor for the Debonair team, and his food is absolutely phenomenal! 


Chef Richards back in 1985 and has continually pushed the envelope establishing himself as one of the leaders in the industry. As a George Brown College graduate, Chef Richards has been trained by the best and has worked at some of the top restaurants in Toronto. To name a few: The Skyline Hotel, The Island Yacht Club and The CN Tower .  currently the owner and manager of Pepperpot Cafe, which is a Caribbean restaurant and the CEO of The Art of Catering (Who has never disappointed us!). Through his expertise and experience, he has also achieved some amazing accomplishments in the food industry. In the past, he has worked on the celebrity chef stage at the Canadian National Exhibition, which is an honour regarded only for world-renowned chefs. As well, he has been a guest on various media outlets around the city of Toronto including City TV’s Breakfast Television, CTV Canada AM, CBC TV, and Global News. 


Our team at Debonair loves working with Chef Richards not only because of his incredible cooking talents but because of his dedication to being a community builder, something that we take pride in as well. Whether it’s teaming up with United Way to achieve world records, being one of the main supporters of career fairs around the Pickering area or helping provide Sunday brunch at Joy Divine Praise Church, he has always found time in his busy schedule to give back to the community. 


Debonair has developed an amazing relationship with Chef Selwyn Richards and his team. Every time that we've worked together, our event attendees have always left thrilled with the amazing spread that was provided. For example, in August for one of our company retreat events, The Art of Catering provided an amazing lunch for our event attendees. It was incredible to see how good food brought people together, there were smiles all around. Our team also ate well that day! 


To close, Chef Selwyn Richards has been a staple within the industry for 25+ years. He has continually provided expertise and dedication to whatever he has been involved in. Whether it’s events, restaurants, catering, or community building, Chef Richards has always achieved great success. From Debonair, we thank you!
